Ford has brought back the Compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with refined subtle design, exemplary interiors, enhanced versatility and performance as the new generation EcoSport.
2018 Ford EcoSport Engine
The all new EcoSport will be procurable in two engine options. Firstly, a turbocharged and direct – injected 1.0 liter EcoBoost three – cylinder paired with a front wheel drive.
This is estimated to produce 123 hp of power and 125 lb – ft of torque. Secondly, a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated inline – four engine that produces 167 hp of power and 149 lb – ft of torque, paired with four wheel drive. Both the engines will be mated with six speed automatic transmission.
The 2018 EcoSport will be accessible in four trim levels: S, SE, SES and Titanium. SES is the sporty trim level and Titanium is the top most model with premium amenities and look. The new EcoSport will be offered in 12 bold colors and styles.
2018 Ford EcoSport Exteriors
The rear gate of the modern EcoSport swings horizontally rather than vertically as in a hatchback which adds usefulness and uniqueness to the car.
The front grille and bumper has been redesigned for a more premium look. The old grille on the front has now been replaced by a new large trapezoidal grille with distinctive angular headlights. The headlights have been made larger than that in its predecessor and now incorporates stylish LED daytime running lights.
2018 Ford EcoSport Interiors
The interiors are clean and contemporary. Keyless entry and power door locks come standard. There is also Variable Speed Intermittent Wipers, Automatic Headlights, Steering Wheel Audio Controls, Bluetooth Connection, Adjustable Steering Wheel and Cruise Control for a hassle free and delightful drive experience. 4.3 inch to 8 inch floating touchscreen display will be available from the lowest trim to Titanium variant.
Sunroof, dual – zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors and heated front seats will be available in the Ford EcoSport SE. An optional 110 volt AC inverter will be available for charging larger devices apart from a pair of fast – charging USB ports for smart phones.
This will act as a user – friendly feature. Ford’s Sync 3 software has voice recognition, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration for a gratifying ride. There is an optional B&O Play premium audio system in the higher trims that brings in 675 watts of amplification and 10 speakers. Ford also comes up with a Cold Weather package that includes a heated steering wheel and a windshield de-icer.
Leather upholstery, copper colored interior look, smart storage solutions like adjustable boot floor that can be raised to reduce storage or vice-versa, roomy cabin and easy-to-use infotainment system has made the EcoSport a congenial vehicle in every aspect.
2018 Ford EcoSport Safety Features
The advanced Airbag System comprises of six airbags all round the cabin to ensure maximum protection in case of a collision. It includes Front and Head Airbag for the Driver and the Front Passenger, Side Curtain Airbags for both the rows and Rear Head and Body Airbags.
