Ford Ranger has always been one of the most reliable names in the market of compact pickup trucks. Throughout its life, since 1983 to 2012 it remained among the most recognized things on American roads. But about 6 years ago the company decided to discontinue it for some reasons. Now 6 years later it’s coming back, and this time it’s looking more promising than it has ever been. Its return was announced at Detroit Auto Show, so it makes sense for us to take a look at all 2019 Ford Ranger features, specifications, powertrain and availability details. Let’s do that:
2019 Ford Ranger Features
Ford has loaded a wide range of security as well as general features into this Ranger, which collectively make it way different from any of its predecessors. The features include:
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration
- Wi-Fi Hotspot
- Automatic emergency braking
- Lane departure warning (with XLT and Lariat trims)
- Reverse sensors
- Lane keeping assistant
- Blind spot detection with trailer coverage.
The Lariat trim also comes with pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control.
2019 Ford Ranger Engine
Ford generally keeps things simple when it comes to powertrains of its Rangers, and that has happened once again. 2019 Ford Ranger will be powered by an EcoBoost turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. What else? Well, nothing. That’s the single unit that will power the truck.
For transmission, there will be a 10-speed automatic transmission system, capable of utilizing the four-cylinder engine to its fullest in a highly efficient manner. Fuel economy related details are yet to be revealed, but the company says that the economy of this new Ford Ranger will be “on par with competing for V6 engines.”
2019 Ford Ranger Interior
The interiors of 2019 Ford Ranger will have a straightforward design and simplified layout in comparison to the interiors of F-150. Hard plastics are once again Ford’s preferred choice for interior styling, which is not necessarily a bad choice. In fact, hard plastics make the perfect material to be used in pickup trucks when analyzed against other materials.
2019 Ford Ranger Price
The price for 2019 Ford Ranger has not been announced yet. However, it may be announced by fall of this year. Based on the prices of competing trucks in the market and the features given above I feel that it should be priced below $25,000. But at the same time, we should also not forget that price adds up very quickly when any optional packages are added to the purchase.
2019 Ford Ranger Release Date
2019 Ford Ranger is still a bit far from release. The truck will be released sometime in the first quarter of next year, so we need to wait until then.
