The Nissan Frontier has become a comparable compact pickup, and one of the best choices if you’re looking for quality, comfort, and versatility. The many options of the Frontier has helped it compete with other smaller pickups in an industry which was once dominated by US truck manufacturers only. As the Japanese auto manufacturer has done time and time again, the impressive lineup of the 2018 Nissan Frontier is expected to live up to the huge expectations that are already being seen.
The 2018 Frontier won’t have many significant upgrades of the 2016 and 2017 models as some of the biggest differences will be seen inside. There will be plenty of models to choose from as well as an extremely economical 4-cylider and more powerful V6 option. We’re also hearing rumors that a regular cab option will be seen, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Below, the following preview details everything we know so far on the new 2018 Nissan Frontier specs, features, price, and release date for all models including the Desert Runner, PRO, S, SL, and SV.
2018 Nissan Frontier Specs and Features – Desert Runner, PRO, S, SL, and SV Model
We’re not expecting anything significant to change to the exterior of the 2018 Frontier, but slight enhancements to the front-end are being speculated. We’re hearing a wider headlight and grill pattern which will give the new models more of a sleek look. On the interior, the biggest difference will be in the overall quality of the trim options which has been one of the biggest complaints of the 2016 and 2017 Frontier.
Some of the most notable technology features will include a touchscreen display, Bluetooth, hands-free calling, Nissan Connect with app integration, voice controls, satellite SiriusXM radio, backup camera, and more. The safety features will be representative of Nissan’s strive for a five star rating which will see an advanced airbag system, side impact airbags, roof airbags, ABS brakes, security system, and more.
The 2018 Frontier PRO-4X will be the performance model offering the best off-road experience from Nissan. Featuring an upgraded suspension which will make driving in any road condition a breeze along with a comprehensive towing package for a compact pickup truck. The 4.0 liter V6 engine will boast a good balance of efficiency and power along with a locking rear differential, factory bed liner, fog lights, LED lighting, and much more.
The under the hood specs will likely include a 2018 Nissan Frontier engine with a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder with nearly 155-hp and a V6 4.0 liter over 260-hp option. There will be three transmission options including a 6 speed manual and 5 speed automatic and manual option. The estimated gas mileage will be upwards of 16-20MPG/city and 22-24MPG/highway.
